Your rights under the GDPR

Access to personal information - Individuals who are the subject of personal data held by Zero Waste Scotland LTD are entitled to:

Ask what information the company holds about them and why
Ask how to gain access to it
Be informed how to keep it up to date
Be informed how the company is meeting its data protection obligations

If an individual contacts the company requesting this information, this is called a subject access request or SAR. To assist us in dealing with your request to access your information, please complete this form.

We will respond to Subject Access Requests within one month as is the requirement under GDPR. We will always verify the identity of anyone making a subject access request before handing over any information.

You will be asked to complete an additional form by Zero Waste Scotland if your request is in relation to a data subject.

Please note: personal data can only be disclosed to a third party if:

• It was specifically collected for that purpose in the first instance, the data subject has been informed of that disclosure, and there is a lawful basis for transfer; or

• The disclosure is covered by one or more of the exemptions within data protection legislation.

Plus copy of utility bill from a service provider to your home address as evidence of your identity

If you are a family member or lawyer making the request for access on behalf of the data subject, you are required to provide proof of your authorisation by the data subject to make the request.

Please provide a copy of a letter signed by the Data Subject authorising you (named) to make the request on your behalf.

We will also contact the data subject to confirm the request made.
